Bloodthirsty for revenge on the two men responsible for destroying her life, and desperate to find out if the prince and his captain are safe, Celaena returns to Rifthold, the seat of so much evil. She has accepted her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, there are dark truths to learn and debts to be paid. Aelin must stay hidden beneath her assassin’s hood and draw on her mortal strength as Celaena to prevent the King of Adarlan from tearing her world apart. Only then can she fight for her people.

Readers will be held rapt as Celaena’s story builds to an agonising crescendo, packed with heart-pounding action and swoon-worthy romance.

I actually started reading this book straight after Heir of Fire, but I was reluctant to do two Sarah J Maas reviews in a row. Anyway let’s get down to the review. SO MUCH HAPPENED IN THIS BOOK! After I finished Heir of Fire, I had the urge to plow into QofS, but I took a deep breathe and made a few predictions:

  • Manon vs. Celaena
  • Dorian vs. Celaena (but they love each other too much so nothing happens)
  • Rowan/Aelin
  • Getting all the Wirdkeys
  • Return to Terrasen

This book wasn’t so much about the characters, but they obviously still played a huge part. I’m not going to talk about the characters themselves really, just about THE SHIPS. So… basically Rowan/Aelin is canon. Bye Chaol and Dorian, but your Ship has sailed. Oh wait no, they’re sinking… OOPS! So, yes, I am still Team Rowan until I die or he dies. Don’t do it Sarah!

So much happened! I am actually so afraid that no one died in this book, so the next book is going to slaughter everyone and everything. Including my soul. Don’t do it Sarah! Ding Dong, the King is dead! SO HAPPY, BUT SO AFRAID!

I know this post isn’t great but… but… Just read it! 5 freakin’ stars!
